Biography
Son of Hernando Pizarro and Francisca Pizarro Yupanqui, daughter of Marquess Francisco Pizarro and Quispe Sisa (Inés Huaylas) Yupanqui. His brother Francisco was the first born, but Juan was his father's favorite. Based on the relationship with his father, he though he was going to inherit his parents' money and became severely indebted. Hernando died in 1578 and Francisca chose her eldest son Francisco as heir. Juan had an illegitimate child named Hernando and died around 1581, never having left Spain. His mother had to pay his debts.

Research Notes
Some online family trees claim that this Juan Pizarro lived in Loja Ecuador, married Maria de la Rua, and was the father of Isabel Pizarro de la Rua. But if you compare the dates in the two documents shown above, it is evident that this relationship is not possible. There is no evidence that he left Spain, and there is evidence that he was present in Spain after 1561 when another Juan Pizarro was already in Loja.
